Bless Jodi Ellen Malpas for her fabulous stories! This book was one of a few all three of us has read ( that really says alot!). And we all agree that there´s practically nothing to bitch about. We absolutely loved One Night Promised. How could we not? We were stunned shitless.
We loved how we couldn´t predict where this story was heading. Everytime we thought we got it…BAM the story went in a different direction, shocking us more after each scene. OOOH yeah. We were sitting on the edge while reading about Livy and Miller´s relationship.
Livy´s character was grand. Whatever she did, or how she reacted was totally relatable. Everything she did….we couldn´t have done it better or worse.
M…or Miller was this mysterious guy at the beginning and turned into this sexy ass, drool worthy piece of flesh who even had manners! So…we got a guy who has the looks, money, AND who can use the right words at the right time * fanning faces* He had it…he nailed it ( or he rather nailed Livy..Lol….okay okay that was lame..but it had to be. Don´t judge. We´re putting our thoughts together on this one. ).
M is a gentleman? Oooooh yeah. M is passionate? Fuck us silly….he is. Miller has a way to him that make women want to drop to their knees and beg.
Not only the main characters were superb….the sub characters did their magic as well. Livy´s friend, her co-worker, her Granny….all made this story seem so warm and normal. But what wasn´t your everyday special was Livy´s past. Utterly devastating. And the worst of all….she actually put…Nope. We´re not going to spoil anything for you as we believe this is a book that needs to be read without us giving everything away.
The end chrushed our rotten hearts. Seriously….we were like:
„ Oh fuck no. Girl…you just did NOT do that.“
„ What the fuck is wrong with you?“
„ Jesus Christ…knock some fucking sense into these characters!!“
„ Who has time to hunt the author down?“
…and last but not least, our final word regarding the story was:
„ What?“ with pained expressions on our faces. Then….we fainted.
This book left alot of questions unanswered, which means we´ll hopefully get some answered in book 2.
What, in God´s name, made M do what he does?
What drove Livy to do what she did?
How does on woman come up with these things at all?
We´re in no mood to wait until November for book #2. That just sucks, big time!
Would we recommend this book?

Underestimated Too ( Underestimated #2) – Jettie Woodruff

Move on, this isn’t the story for you. You want all the gruesome details? Stick around, and then you can judge Drew.

When I found out Jettie Woodruff was about to publish Underestimated Too, I admit I was excited and totally frightened. Underestimated ( book #1) was beyond a perfect read ( for me at least ) so I wasn´t so sure what would happen in book #2.
Well, I had all kinds of stuff running through my mind. Will the author do a 1:1 copy just in the hero´s POV? Or will she add a few things to the previous story? WHAT THE HELL WAS GOING TO HAPPEN!!?? Please understand that I am not a huge fan of his and her POV´s. I´ve reached way to many times in a shit hole when wanting to read both characters perspectives.
Three words come to my mind after reading this book. HOLY FUCKING HELL! If the author wouldn´t have a life of her own and I wouldn´t be planning to plant an apple tree next week in my garden for my kids….I would hunt that author down and give her a big fat hug! I loved Underestimated Too. If I could give that book more than 5 out of 5 champagne glasses I would.
Everything that happened in book #1 was tough enough, but reading about how the characters relationship continued was AWESOME! The authors ability to shock the crap out of you is so cool. Never would I have thought Drew and Morgan´s story would go in THAT direction…( haha…now you´re wondering what happened, aren´t you? :-))
The story shows the couple who live a somewhat normal life if it weren´t for Drew´s screwed up ways. The abuse continues but Morgan stays with him!!! Can you believe it? I couldn´t! I would have packed my undies and kids and left! He was still the professional who loved his wife and his son, but the outbursts he had were getting worse, not to mention the reasons for his outbursts. GOD….he would flip for the stupidest reasons. I feared for Morgans life throughout the whole story.
What really happens in this book? Do they get professional help? Does their relationship stand a chance? Can Morgan handle Drew and his dark secrets?
I couldn´t handle his bundle of screwed-up-ness. I mean…it´s a miracle the guy didn´t shoot himself after what he went through. I felt sorry for him one minute, and then a few pages later I wanted to kill him myself. The truth that was revealed evoked all kinds of ugly emotions in me. I loved the bastard…and I hated him. It was frustrating. But in a good way.
What´s kind of interesting is that some parts ( if not all ) in this book come pretty close to reality. That´s a creepy just thinking about that. And I believe Jettie Woodruff did a fantastic job in writing about another taboo-ish subject and make a lovestory out of it.
The end was more than I could have asked for. I was 100% satisfied with the way things ended. I can die a happy person right now..:-)
It was a nasty, dark, painful, torturous, delightful rollercoaster ride! I am so happy and honored to have this book on my bookshelf! A total MUST READ for anyone who loves non-cliché lovestories!

Once upon a time…there was a fence.
It´s hard to tell what I loved most about this book because there were alot of things I really enjoyed. Unfortunately…..there were also the things I could have done without.
The idea of colliding 2 different worlds with one another is fantastic. I loved to read about the bad-ass, brutal MC´s and the passionate nutcases from a cult. That was exciting to no end!
I also enjoyed the lovestory between Styx and Mae. It wasn´t unique but it fit the story well.
The whole „ I´m gonna beat the shit out of you and kill your sorry ass“ theme was realistic. In my opinion…..I thought the author did her homework more than well ( as she very well explained that in the author´s note) Same goes for the cult side. Very extreme and scary. The author shows a reader what these extreme believers are capable of.
The fact that the author used Greek Mythology was also grand! The hero´s name, the MC´s name, and the lovestory was all connected with Hades and Persephone. Styx / River was named after one of the rivers from Hades….and the biker club was called Hades Hangmen. So, another, complete different world added to the story. The bikers even lived out a ritual from the old Greek days ( putting 2 coins on a dead bodies eyes to pay the ferry on their way to Hades..)
Now to the characters:
Styx/ River was as tough as they come. He was the President of the Hades Hangmen. A sexy as sin young guy who was feared by his enemies and adored by the „ bitches“. I enjoyed his character alot but I couldn´t picture him as he was described. He was possessive and he had a kind side to him….but the sexiness was more in the background for me than all the events. ANYWAYS….what made his character more interesting for me was his disability. No fucked-up- ness. He was as normal as a biker can be….:-)
Salome….or Mae was the complete opposite of Styx and his world of bikers. She was innocent, kind, and quite dull * laughing* I´d like to refer to her as a beautiful abused chruch mouse. The place where she came from was creepy as shit and I was sooooo rooting for her to find out about the real world.
The only…..yes, ONLY thing I disliked about this book was the word „ bitch“. I´m usually a huge fan of using that word ( and many other cuss words, for that matter) myself, but seriously: Bitch was used as a term of endearment. I get the biker language and all…it was just alot of BITCH for one book. „ Bitch gone“, „ Bitch died“, „ Where´s my bitch?“….

The love Triangle, the fear, all the blood, the murder, the sex….it was all exciting and I just cannot wait to get my hands on the next installment of the series!
My favorite character from the book would absolutely be the fucked up Flame. Dangerous as hell and I´m totally eager to find out what he has to offer!
Have I mentioned the cover? Loved it! And the Title? Now….I´ve been singing It Ain´t Me, Babe from Johnny Cash for hours ( I know the song isn´t from Johnny Cash, but I loved his version much better) and I will forever connect that book with the song…or the other way around!

I turn to face him; he puts his other arm around me. We are in the same position as before when the last kiss attempt failed. My arms are tight around his neck, his arms around my waist. I look down. I turn and walk to the elevator, push the button, and look back at Aiden’s closed office door. The elevator doors open and I enter. Why did I leave it so long to realize how I felt? What the hell is wrong with me? I’m a total idiot, and now I have lost the only man I’ll ever truly love. My heart and soul belong to Aiden. I’m sure I’ll never get over this.

“Thank you, Tony,” she replied. “This has been an amazing night. How can I ever thank you?”
He pulled her close, feeling the pressure of her breasts against his chest. Turning off the riding lights, he smiled a devilish grin. “I have a few ideas.”
Claire’s glance darted toward the dark glass partition separating the back from the front of the car.
Tony laughed. “I promise we’re alone; Eric can’t see or hear us.” He leaned toward her. She instinctively reached for his neck and settled onto the long leather seat. As he hovered mere inches above, he watched her cheeks flush, and his erection came to life. Over the past few months, Claire had learned to respond to Tony’s commands—both verbal and none. There‘d been times when she’d hesitated. It was on those occasions that she earned the punishment she deserved. Turning his tone more serious, he raised a brow and demanded, “Now, show me that you’ve followed my rules. I want to see.”

Slowly reaching for the length of material, Claire kept her eyes fixed on his. As the material rose, she replied, “I promise, Tony, I’ve followed your rules.”
He couldn’t help but think how beautiful she looked—offering herself to him. That, combined with the sound of her calling him by his personal name, was enough to release the painful tightness in his slacks. It seemed unreal that he could be on the verge of exploding, and she’d yet to touch him. Surprisingly, at that moment, that wasn’t what he wanted. Okay, I have just finished this AMAZING companion book and my mind and emotions are everywhere! First off, I haven’t been this excited to read a book since Convicted when it first came out so as I was falling asleep last night at 10pm, one, I was pissed or at least VERY envious that Julia already had access to Tony because she’s in Germany (love you, Jules 😉 ) and two, I was pissed because at 10pm I physically couldn’t stay up any longer for some reason and I didn’t want to wait until morning for my Tony fix. I can’t tell you how excited I became when my internal alarm clock woke me up at 12:03a, right in time for Tony to be downloaded to my kindle…life once again complete!
We need to give a huge round of applause to Aleatha Romig on her writing style first and foremost! It is such a pleasure to read a book so well put-together in thought, wording, and editing. I’m fairly good at looking past sub-par writing and editing to still be able to enjoy a story but with Aleatha Romig, I don’t have to! I get it all with her; great story, great writing, great flow, AWESOME characters! She delivers to her readers a complete package and she truly deserves to be widely recognized as such!
Getting into the mind of Anthony Rawlings was SO interesting! Since the beginning, we all knew what a f**ked up bastard he was but I didn’t realize how unbelievably screwed up he was as well until now. I mean, the guy really has a whole different and screwed up way of thinking! He takes control freak to an entirely new level and this book proves it without a doubt! As I was reading and feeling completely disturbed about the events transpiring, I had to remind myself that I already know what happens…I’ve freaking read the entire series already. Yet, the story dragged me in so deeply I forgot about that at times and it was as if I was reading the story entirely for the first time. At the end, I was pleading for Claire not to take the keys and had to laugh at myself for such an idiotic thought…I mean of course she’s going to take the keys! Reading Behind His Eyes did make me see Tony differently though and I love that I fully am able to understand how he viewed everything and his thought process in why he made Claire endure the things she did and how he responded to her. March can’t come soon enough for me as that’s when Behind His Eyes – Truth comes out! Aleatha Romig, you did an extraordinary job once again and you, without a doubt, get the biggest 5 champagne glasses we can find for this amazing book!

Her Forbidden Hero – Laura Kaye
Okay, first off….the cover didn´t appeal to us. Yes, it´s sexy, but we weren´t feeling the blue-ish couple on the cover. BUT….since we heard alot of good things about this author and the story itself, we thought we´d give it a try. And most people who read / reviewed Her Forbidden Hero were right. It was a good read. It was cute, fun and enjoyable. But that was about it.
The story is about a young woman, Alyssa, who´s looking for a job and actually finds a job at a bar where her beloved brothers best pal also works at. Alyssa was in love with Marco for a long time and she wasn´t about to forget the guy.
Marco, a beautiful ( yes,,,,that stud was beauty reincarnated ) but also a super screwed up fellow, suffered after his soldier experiences in Afganistan. He was never the same guy after what he has been through. And he lets everyone know that. When he sees his best friends sister, ( FYI: who he also had the hots for, WAY back) Alyssa, his little isolated world slowly starts to fall apart.
With both working at the same bar, the two send some sparks flying across the room, but it´s Marco who´s not sure about Alyssa.. Does Marco want to give in to Alyssa and love her? Yes. The ruined guy really wants the beautiful young woman. But can he be with her even if he has a whole apartment filled with nightmares and demons that constantly haunt him? Haha….that´s for me to know ( since I´ve read the book…lol) and for you to find out!
Now to the characters:
We really liked Alyssa. She was determined and still cute. We liked that she never gave up on herself or Marco. Whatever happened….she was always there for him, even when he pushed her away. Her character was the perfect mix of tough cookie and a tender little lamb. We couldn´t complain aber her at all!
Marco´s character was well displayed. We loved how he was all mysterious at the beginning and that he turned out to be an emotional mess, all because of Alyssa. His struggle was painful and I totally fell for the guy. * sigh*
As for the story….well, it was well paced and it well written. But the issues Marco had seemed to easy to deal with even if they were God-awful. If the author would have gotten a bit more into detail with Marco´s past then this book could have been more deep and the emotions that were brought up could have been felt.
We believe that if an author takes on a topic such as a mentally wounded soldier, then it isn´t enough to just mention his pain. A reader needs insight to be able to feel his pain and see his side. But other than that….we can´t really complain. It was sweet and a fun, quick lovestory.
All we can say is that we really enjoyed this book.
Would we recommend this book?
– Yes. To anyone who loves romance and a Happily Ever After!
Would we re-read this book?
– Probably not now….but maybe some time in the future.

Kinght & Day is the third and last installment in the Knight series by Kitty French. And what a great way to complete a series.
I didn´t know what to think of this book at first but it turned out quite good. I read the first 2 books a while back and I actually enjoyed them alot. Knight & Day isn´t a must-read….but it´s absolutely a nice finish to the series.
There were a few things I really loved about this book and then there were those moments where I thought: ” Hmm….okay, not so much.” I adore the authors writing style. It´s simple, fresh and fun. Kitty French´s books have been on my bookshelf for some time now and I wouldn´t want to miss them. But this story confused me a bit.
First, I thought Lucien and Sophie would get smaller rolls ( if any at all. ) in Knight & Day, but they didn´t. I was under the impression that it was supposed to be just about Kara and Dylan. But it wasn´t. The switching POV´s got me confused as well. I jumped from Lucien to Sophie to Kara and then to Dylan. It´s not a complete bad thing to read about these characters thoughts in equal proportions….but I think it would have been better just to stick with the 2 main characters, Kara and Dylan.
I really liked this book, but there was something that didn´t capture my full attention. Yes, this story was sexy as hell and romantic. And YES…this book had more than enough hot, steaming scenes ( which I enjoyed 100% ) but still…..that certain spark wasn´t there. The setting, the atmosphere, the love tug, the cowboy boots…..all that was A-OK. Just not the part where Kara couldn´t get over the fact that her Fiancé left her standing alone at their own wedding. It WAS a big issue….but she really needed to get over that. It just didn´t sit well with me that Kara wrote off men completely and then she called other men ( Dylan ) Sailor and flirted with him HARD. It just didn´t fit.
I´d love nothing more than to give Kitty French another 5 champagne glass rating, but unfortunately.. Knight & Day was just a 3 champagne glass in my opinion.
Would I recommend this book?
– Yes, I absolutely would. It´s a perfect companion to the other books. And any DIE-HARD Lucien fan must have this book.
Would I re-read Knight & Day?
– Yes. Some time in the future…I would pick up the series again and read them all over again.

Gosh. I feel like I´m ready to go smack someone. The whole story had me on my toes ready for the kill! Besides the really good story, I had one thing on my mind:
How to kill Sean´s friend / ex-girlfriend, Rebecca. O. M. F. G !! How an author come up with such an evil character such as Rebecca is beyond me. That woman made everyone´s lives in this book miserable! The things she did to finally get what she wanted was awful!! And Rebecca did a whole lot of stupid shit. Fuck….towards the end of the book, I was rolling up my sleeves and stashing away my hair to get ready to beat the shit out of her character.
Before I get myself all worked up again ( sheesh )…let me start with the story:
In Reckless, the happily married couple ( Sean + Ava ) seem to be happy until Sean gets a role offer to play in the movie Reckless, a movie Sean was really looking forward to work on. One night…Sean and Ava go out to celebrate and meet new / old friends and then BAM! The terror begins.
Sean and Ava find themselves getting involved with Sean´s former best friend, Joel, and also his ex- girlfriend and NOW Joel´s wife, Rebecca. ( was that confusing? Do not hesitate to ask any questions about that…lol) When it´s settled that the four will be spending alot of time together, Joel and Rebecca move into the Grant´s pool house. From there on…..they made it their mission to ruin / rip apart Sean and Ava.
Jesus Christ….there´s only so much a couple can endure! Rebecca cheated on Sean with Joel way back. And now Sean and Ava were still welcoming the awful couple with open arms into their home. How bitter sweet is that?! Sean never saw any harm in letting old friends stay in his home…but Ava wasn´t to happy about it. ( D´uh! )
Now…what did the dark souled visitors do to Sean and Ava? Dear God…where to start? Well, first of all….Rebecca obviously wanted Sean back for selfish reasons. So she openly flirted her ass off with Sean, right infront of Ava. Plus Rebecca made Sean doubt his wife. What the hell? First off….if my own husband doubts me….that would be it! He never believed Ava..how frustrating. The list with things Rebecca and Joel did to Ava was long and cruel, and near the end….I flipped my top! Rebecca had it in her to make Ava lose her unborn child! That scene and all the characters in that scene handled that situation pretty calm. I would have killed that BITCH! Off with her F**KING HEAD! And the worst part for me was when Rebecca tried to use Ava´s child. Uugh…that was a tough scene to read about. When Ava asked Rebecca to look after her baby girl, I was screaming : ” NOOOO, dumb ass! Take your kid with you! Don´t leave her with THAT ROTTEN BITCH! “. It wasn´t a secret that Rebecca hated Ava and Seans kid…* closing eyes / hoding ears / singing loud * and she didn´t care what happened to her either. So awful. But also so exciting! Those scenes made me hate that BITCH more.
The complete books is unreal, or course…but just imagining a person like Rebecca could be running around somewhere in the world just gives me the creeps.
In Reckless…these characters get tested on so many levels. Damn…my patience was also tested, but I happily survived.
Will Sean and Ava out-smart the evil couple? Or will they go seperate ways because their love can´t stand a chance against Rebecca and Joel?
It was a long torturous road for Sean and Ava…but in my opinion….it was worth it! Their love was stronger than ducktape!
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves to torture themselves with an emotional angsty, catchy, and addictive lovestory!
Reckless is a perfect addictive book that will stay with you forever!
