Book Description
ARE YOU READY TO TAKE A WALK?
Alasdair Masters is in a rut. He just hit forty, has been nearly celibate for the past year, and his life has turned into a daily sequence of lonely patterns that revolve around avoiding human contact.
His tidy life is turned on its head when a hot young blonde at the gym that’s been pseudo-stalking him decides to rock his world. A very young blonde. Way, way too young for him. The problem is, he can’t seem to tell her no, and she just keeps coming back for more.
It doesn’t help that he’s ninety percent sure she’s a criminal, and still, he can’t seem to turn her down. What is a dull introvert to do when a chaotic cyclone that oozes sexuality comes twisting into his life?
At first, he thinks she’ll give him a heart attack, but after his twenty-year marriage ended a year ago, he’s been a little lost, and when she comes crashing into his life, he realizes that he’s never felt more alive.
Is a walk on the wild side just what he needs to get his on track or a disaster in the making? Is it possible for someone that much younger to be just what he needs, or is she a fortune hunter, as everyone keeps telling him? Is it his hormones telling him that the mysterious younger woman is the one, or could it be more?
Divas Thoughts
Now, this book was a wonderful change of scenery. A 40 year old rich guy living a depressing life falls for a mysteriousyoung woman. The attraction they felt towards one another was there from the very beginning, but Alasdair ( also called Dair ) had a small issue with their age difference and that kept him from jumping Iris´s throat from the start.
Thankfully, Iris was 24 but Dair still wasn´t green knowing he was so much older. They somehow start a crazy, easy relationship and both live good with their time together.
I LOVED THIS STORY!
( besides the fact that it was short.*sniffle* )
That alone wouldn´t have made this story so great. What made this story unforgettable for me was the fact that even I couldn´t find out what Iris´s problem was.
Iris was a character I enjoyed alot. She had it all. Iris was beautiful with her almost white blonde hair and well built body ( she was the ultimate bomb of a woman ). But it wasn´t just that. For a 24 year old..she had a carefree way of living. Her attitude towards problems or odd situations made me love her. If she were a real person I´d want to be around her. Outgoing and upfront.
The one and only thing that drove me mad was that Iris was too good to be true! A total suspicious woman who gave nothing away. Her past, her present, even her future…..all a mystery. I wanted to know where she was going and what she was doing while away from Dair. I wanted to know about who she really was. Every damn time Dair asked something about her past or even asked about a job she ditched the subject perfectly. How frustrating and exciting for a reader!
Alasdair was also a mighty fine piece of character. He was 40 ( which is, in my opinion, a sexy as hell age) who went through a slightly hard time with his ex-wife and his loneliness. Uuhm…I would have helped him out in a heartbeat * cough cough* ( I know that was TMI….but cut me some slack! He was sexy, OKAY? Lol) His whole neat little world was turned upside down when little Iris popped into the picture. He started living even if their age difference bugged him.
I personally thought a 24 year old dating a 40 year old wasn´t a huge problem. If everything fits then why not?
The romance in this book was also a mystery ( in a good way). I knew Dair was falling hard for Iris…and that Iris was attracted to Dair, but there was something missing. The connection was there, the sex was more than present….but what about the stuff that seals the deal of a relationship? There are more installments to this series so my guess is that I might find out what Iris´s deal is ( d´uh, to myself ). There are to many questions that need answers and the suspicion is nearly unbearable.
The end is what killed me. How could a book end that way? I never found out who Iris really was? With her beieng all mysterious….and with that god-awful ending….I felt like someone dumped water over my head. Don´t get me wrong….the end ( I prefer to call it „ The Nasty Cliffhanger“) was great, I just wanted the story to never stop.
